In 2020, Josiah attended an online youth event through Faith 2 Faith Ministries. As a 14-year-old homeschool student, Josiah had some extra time on his hands, so after that online experience, he decided to start volunteering for the ministry. Though he could have chosen to volunteer at a local charity, Josiah chose Faith 2 Faith because of the impact the ministry has.
“Faith 2 Faith helps get people to Jesus. Volunteering at a food bank is a great thing to do, but you also want to spread the gospel to people because it affects their eternity,” he said.
Josiah accepted Christ at the Christian preschool he attended, so he’s known Jesus most of his life. However, Josiah realizes many kids don’t have the benefit of a Christian upbringing. He hopes to reach these teens through the TikTok videos he makes for Faith 2 Faith, and he hopes to help those who’ve grown up in the church but have experienced doubts.
Josiah hadn’t made TikTok videos before volunteering at the ministry, but he’s caught on quickly. Some of the videos respond to videos of people deconstructing their faith, while others simply address topics from a biblical standpoint. Josiah believes TikTok offers a great opportunity to reach people with the gospel, especially the younger generation.
“TikTok is a very popular social media,” Josiah said. “When you’re looking at TikTok, you’re really just scrolling, not knowing what’s next, so it’s a great way of reaching out.”
By volunteering with Faith 2 Faith, Josiah has found not only fulfillment from the service he’s doing, but also growth in his faith.
“Making these videos has helped me go to the Bible more often when I have a problem or a dilemma,” he said.
He hopes to continue to grow in his faith and help others do the same.
